  1. I am interested in attending your vigil in Moscow Mills. (If something here in STL materializes of course I will be here for it). But please keep me informed on your plans. Thanks!

      Hi Janet
I’d like to participate here in st louis … need to select a location and get some more people. got any thoughts?

  2. When you figure that darkness comes near rush hour you have to take that into account when choosing a locale — also the weather — I think we’ll be above normal next week but it might rain Thursday. What about the giant Equestrian Statue of St. Louis overlooking Forest Park at The Art Museum? That would be neat if you could get a photo before dark but when it was still twilight. Also if it rains we could scurry across the driveway there for cover at the Art Museum. I had actually just planned to burn a candle at home since I hadn’t heard from anyone in STL yet. Let me know what you think. . . also you’d maybe want to meet inside Art Museum to get organized at first. I guess there might be just a few people due to work/home schedules, etc???

Funny, i was thinking the same location; it’s the only horse statue i can think of in st louis. it is off the beaten path, but everywhere else that comes to mind is private property that may not work out. i’d like to post to Carrol Abel that we’re ready for her to put st louis under missouri so others can find us. Are we on?

  3. The statue there used to be THE symbol of St. Louis (the city) before the arch was built and access is easy to the park from Hiway 40 or other areas for people coming from North County, South County or the Westplex (central corridor). Good parking too. Art Museum closes at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday unless it has already started its hoiday hours which I doubt.

Why don’t you go ahead and let Carrol Abel know we need a STL tab and let’s see what develops! Maybe we can let the media know as well, but I wonder — need to check Forest Park hours and regulations, etc….unless we did this right before or right after the Art Museum closes (while people are leaving the museum and getting in their cars. . .) so wouldn’t be too conspicuous there after dark. . . ?!

Okay, I’ll check out the hours for the museum and park. We need that tab for st louis and surrounding areas. I emailed you … and these posts don’t show up as email too. my email is thedocshop@charter.net.

Forest Park is open until 10:00 p.m.; the st. louis art museum closes at 5. A note said to call about holiday hours (??). I’ll call tomorrow … the late night hours are Friday, until 9:00. What do you think now?

  5. I saw weather and the rain will be easing up & hopefully stopping on Thursday afternoon. Sounds like it will be a good nite probably in the 40’s by then.

Thanks for offering to check out the hours of the museum, and the fact that the Park is open until 10:00 probably means we may assemble there. I can check out the rules regarding assembling in the park. Since we would be close to Art Museum I wonder if we have to let them know we would be there assembling in their vicinity. I have seen some photos and it looks like that whole area is pretty well lit up at nite.

Have you written to Carol Abel yet? If not would you like me to? I saw your email come in but didn’t open it. Glad you told me it was you…I don’t open emails I don’t recognize.

We need to get a format for the vigil of some kind. . . a plan or whatever. Speech? Singing – whatever. What do you think? Maybe we can switch to email from her on for communicating. Bye for now.
